My sense of humour is very dry, and whereas many people shy away from making sarcastic remarks about religion, sexuality, and so on, I do not. It’s not that I want to outright offend people, but I do want to bounce against the edges of what we are conditioned to consider politically correct, appropriate, and “normal.”

Why? Because it makes life more interesting.

If I make a joke about Christianity, it’s not because I don’t respect Christianity. In fact, I respect most religions. I was baptized and raised an Evangelist-Lutheran in a country where Christianity is the state religion and the church is funded with taxes. Many of my morals stem from my Christian upbringing, and despite the fact that I am leaning towards Taoism these days, and do not “practice” Christianity, I still have quite the affinity for the religion, and I have no desire to seriously badmouth it.

I will, however, gladly place its double standards under the same magnifying glass with the rest of everything else under the sun. I make no apologies for it, either, but do not misunderstand: beneath the surface, I mean no disrespect.
