Joe WilsonRepublican Congressman Joe Wilson, who suddenly became a household name by disrupting President Obama’s speech to Congress, is asking for your money.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Wilson states as follows: “The supporters of the government takeover of health care, and the liberals who want to give health care to illegals, are using my opposition as an excuse to distract from the critical questions being raised about this poorly conceived plan. They want to silence anyone who speaks out against it. They made it clear they want to defeat me and pass the plan.”

Then he goes on to ask for money to help him fight the said liberals.

I think Mr. Wilson has missed the point entirely. When he yelled out “You lie!” in the middle of the President’s address, that was him being a distraction. No one is using Mr. Wilson’s viewpoint against him; they are using his immature behavior against him.

Then again we have been witnessing this type of tomfoolery for a while now: the infamous town hall meetings, where people shout, yell, and speak out of turn in a disrespectful fashion, demolishing any notion of constructive dialog.

At any rate, according to CNN, Rep. Joe Wilson’s war chest has fattened up by over $200,000 since his performance in Congress. I would be interested in knowing how exactly he is going to use those funds to battle this “poorly conceived plan.”
