The Republicans all whined about how there was nothing "new" in this speech, how the speech was bad, etc. Yet the Republican response, it seemed to me, wasn't really all that different. It didn't propose any more "new" ideas, and pretty much attempted to shoot down everything else suggested previously. As usual, few "better ideas" were offered in place of what it shot down.
